The Opioid Drug Crisis

Drug use for today’s Americans has become essentially a threat to those expecting a night of

fun.

As many experiment using recreational drugs, some escape the  dangerous effects it has

but unfortunately, some never make it to see another day!

The National Center for

The CDC 2022, Health Statistics indicate there were an estimated 107,622 drug overdose deaths in the United

States during 2021, an increase of nearly 15% from the 93,655 deaths estimated in 2020.

The 2021 increase was half of what it was a year ago when overdose deaths rose 30% from 2019 to

2020, and as of today the number continues to rise.

On October 9, 2019, we received a call that a parent

never wants to experience.

My middle son

Joseph Michael Travieso overdosed on his 27 birthday

in his home.  After receiving the medical examiner’s report, a small trace of the synthetic drug “Fentanyl” was found in his system and took his life.

In his memory, we will continue to spread awareness about this deadly drug to help Save a LIFE!!

Grieving Program For Children Available 2023

This program focuses on children’s grieving process after the loss of a parent, sibling, close family member, or Pet.

Group sessions allow each child to speak about their emotions and fears. Our Licensed therapist will

help create supportive skills that enhance activities to talk freely about their thoughts, using simple words to talk about death. Groups include;

  •  Listening and comfort.
  •  Put feelings into words.
  •  Telling your child what to expect.
  •  Explaining events that will happen.
  •  Giving your child a role.
  •  Helping your child remember the person.
  •  sharing group sessions with another child.

Children who experience a loss are at a higher risk for many negative

outcomes, which can include mental issues due to trauma or loneliness. If you would like to be a part of this course contact us today for more Info!

Bully Awareness

Bringing Children Together

Expressing the important differences children may have and how to be kind to one another!

Creating fun events, and activities to make all Children SMILE!

Supporting Anti Bullying

School Bullying has been the number one cause reported by students, parents, and teachers.  Today the categories of BULLYING continue to grow,

  1. Physical bullying
  2. Verbal bullying
  3. Relational bullying
  4. Cyberbullying
  5. Sexual bullying
  6. Racial bullying

To name a few! With the statistical numbers continuing to increase, it can be difficult to stop this horrible situation. Therefore, it's important to spread awareness to resolve the problem by creating supportive information that will help society understand the issue better.

Bullying can cause resentment

therefore, making a difference in the lives of those children that need compassion is a part of our mission too. Helping each child build strong secure feelings by encouraging them to love themselves because every child should always have joy regardless of their Special Needs!

At SJH we will continue creating safer, activities, workshop programs, books & literature materials, while collaborating with other nonprofits to help all individuals have a happier life.
